RAF Swingfield
About
RAF Swingfield was a flying ground near Dover in Kent, first used in the First World War and brought back into service in the Second as an advanced landing ground. Under Fighter Command it was used for anti-shipping work, the Fairey Albacores of No. 119 Squadron flying from it against enemy coastal traffic in 1944. The airfield closed in 1945 and the site has returned to open land.
