About

RAF Toome opened in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, in 1943. It served chiefly as a training and support station — a transport operational training unit and, later, a flying-training relief landing ground and gliding school used the field, alongside maintenance units. Flying ended in the 1950s, and the site has since passed to farming, housing and industry.
