Notes
A much-travelled Lancaster III that ended its operational career with No. 617 Squadron as ‘KC-Z’, named ‘Honor’. Specially modified with a bulged bomb bay for the 12,000 lb Tallboy and with its mid-upper turret removed to save weight for the long range, it took part in the squadron’s two final attacks on the battleship Tirpitz in Norway — Operation Obviate on 29 October 1944 and Operation Catechism on 12 November 1944, the raid that at last capsized the great warship in Tromsø fjord.
No sorties recorded for this airframe yet.
