Notes
AJ-K, flown by Pilot Officer Vernon Byers of the RCAF, was lost early on the night of 16/17 May 1943 as it crossed the Dutch coast on the northern route to the Sorpe, shot down into the sea by flak. Byers and all his crew were killed — the first loss of the raid.
