Notes
Lancaster W4904 of No. 1667 Heavy Conversion Unit, based at Faldingworth, was on a night training exercise on 27/28 September 1943 when it ran into severe icing in cloud at altitude. The pilot lost control, the aircraft entered a steep dive and broke up at high speed, crashing near Cock Hill at Moor Monkton, Yorkshire. All seven crew were killed.
