Notes
Fairey Battle Mk I P2269 of No. 12 Operational Training Unit was lost during a night cross-country navigation exercise on 3 June 1940. The aircraft entered the Portsmouth anti-aircraft defence area and was shot down by friendly fire, crashing at Puckpool near Ryde; the pilot survived injured, while the observer and wireless operator/air gunner drowned after abandoning the aircraft.
