No. 12 Group
Fighter Command
No. 12 Group of Fighter Command defended the Midlands and East Anglia and the industrial heart of England. In the Battle of Britain it covered the airfields of No. 11 Group to the south and was associated with the ‘Big Wing’ controversy over how mass formations should be brought into action. Its best-known sector station was Duxford.
