No. 211 Group
Fighter Command
No. 211 Group was a fighter group of the Desert Air Force, controlling the fighter and fighter-bomber wings that won and held air superiority over the Western Desert. Equipped with the most modern fighters available, it provided the air cover and close support that underpinned the Eighth Army’s victory at El Alamein and the advance across North Africa.
