No. 212 Group
Fighter Command
No. 212 (Fighter) Group was formed in the Western Desert in December 1942 for the air defence of Cyrenaica and the protection of the coastal supply line behind the advancing Eighth Army. It controlled the fighter wings guarding the rear areas and bases of the Desert Air Force.
