Narrative
The spa city of Wiesbaden, largely spared earlier in the war, was the object of a major Bomber Command area attack on the night of 2/3 February 1945. The raid destroyed much of the historic centre as the Command pressed its campaign against the cities of western Germany in support of the closing land offensive.
Sortie details (which aircraft from which squadron, which crew flew, the outcome) will populate this page once the TNA AIR 27 squadron-diary importer arrives.
The fallen
127 airmen in this archive died on 2 February 1945 or the day that followed. For a raid of this kind these are overwhelmingly the night's losses, though a death-date match is not by itself proof an individual flew this operation.
