• Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) — gazetted 5 June 1945

  This officer has completed many sorties and has also taken part hi various akiborne operations, including the recent Rhine crossing. He has at all times proved to be a keen and courageous captain and has pressed home his attacks regardless of enemy opposition. On one occasion, his aircraft was hit by enemy fire and an engine was rendered unserviceable. Undeterred, he went on to the dropping zone and afterwards flew his damaged aircraft (back to this country where he made a safe 'landing. His example has been an inspiration to all.
