Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) — gazetted 19 May 1944
This officer has set a fine example of skill, courage and devotion to duty. He has completed a large number of sorties during which he has successfully attacked many dangerous and difficult targets. On one occasion, whilst over Berlin, his aircraft was hit by anti-aircraft fire. The starboard aileron was badly damaged and the aircraft temporarily went out of control. Flight Lieutenant Reynolds regained control however, and, although much physical effort was required to keep the aircraft on a level course, he pressed home his attack and afterwards flew safely to base. This officer displayed skill, determination and devotion to duty of the highest standard. Acting Flight Lieutenant Thomas NEIS.
