Biography
Kenneth Hall was a Flight Sergeant in the Royal Air Force, service number 635059. CWGC records his death on 1 May 1943, aged 23, and gives his burial at Berlin 1939-1945 War Cemetery. The Gazette notice in March 1944 and the RAFCommands awards search link the same name and service number with the Distinguished Flying Medal, indicating that his gallantry recognition was published after his death. A broad web search produced several men named Kenneth Hall, including American aircrew and modern sports/civilian records, but none matched this RAF service number, death date and CWGC identity. Those have therefore been excluded. Until a matched squadron or aircraft source is found, the safe account is that Hall was an RAF flight sergeant killed in the air war over Germany or occupied Europe in spring 1943, buried at Berlin, and later identified in the official gallantry awards record with a DFM. These records tie the same name to the same service number, award trail and casualty date, reducing the risk of confusing him with another airman of similar name.
