Dulag Luft
Oberursel, near Frankfurt, Germany
Dulag Luft (Durchgangslager der Luftwaffe) at Oberursel, near Frankfurt, was the Luftwaffe’s transit and interrogation centre through which almost every captured Allied airman passed before being sent on to a permanent camp. Newly shot-down aircrew were held in solitary cells and questioned, sometimes under threats and deliberate privation; after the war several of its officers were prosecuted for the mistreatment of prisoners.
