Stalag Luft VII
Bankau (Bąków), Germany (now Poland)
A Luftwaffe camp at Bankau in Upper Silesia (now Bąków, Poland), opened in mid-1944 for Allied aircrew. In January 1945, only months after it opened, its prisoners were marched west through deep snow toward Luckenwalde as the Red Army approached.
