Notes
Delivered new to No. 101 Squadron in September 1943 and christened ‘The Saint’ by her first crew, Lancaster III DV245 (SR-S) flew well over a hundred operations. No. 101 was the special-duties squadron whose Lancasters carried ‘Airborne Cigar’ (ABC) jamming equipment and an extra German-speaking operator to disrupt enemy night-fighter control, so its aircraft flew on almost every major raid. DV245 was finally lost on operations on 23 March 1945, in the closing weeks of the war.
No sorties recorded for this airframe yet.
