Notes
A Bristol Blenheim V of No. 18 Squadron, coded W, flown by Wing Commander Hugh Malcolm leading a daylight attack on a German landing ground near Chouigui in Tunisia on 4 December 1942. Answering an urgent army request for support, Malcolm led his Blenheims in without fighter escort; overwhelmed by enemy fighters, the whole formation was shot down one by one and Malcolm himself fell in flames. He was awarded a posthumous Victoria Cross for his ‘valour and unswerving devotion to duty’, and the RAF’s welfare ‘Malcolm Clubs’ were later named in his memory.
No sorties recorded for this airframe yet.
