Notes
A Vickers Wellington Mk IC of No. 304 (Polish) “Silesian” Squadron, code NZ, based at RAF Lindholme in South Yorkshire. On the night of 5/6 April 1942, returning from a raid on Cologne, it was intercepted by a Messerschmitt Bf 110 night fighter of 6./NJG 1 and shot down near Geetbets in Brabant, Belgium. All six of its Polish crew were killed; first buried at Sint-Truiden, they now lie together in Heverlee War Cemetery near Leuven. They are commemorated by a memorial plaque at Geetbets, unveiled in 2009.
