Notes
Wellington Mk X LN445 of No. 17 Operational Training Unit took off from RAF Turweston on 26 May 1945. At about 05:25 the port engine cut; the aircraft flew into a tree, crashed and caught fire near Whittlebury. Two of the five crew were killed and three injured, the survivors being treated at Princess Mary’s RAF Hospital, Halton. F/O Furber was buried at Uley (St Giles) churchyard in Gloucestershire, while Sgt Develin was taken home to Co. Waterford and laid to rest at Tramore.
