No. 205 Group
Bomber Command
No. 205 Group was the RAF’s heavy night-bomber group in the Mediterranean theatre. Flying Wellingtons and later Liberators from Egypt, Libya and southern Italy, it attacked ports, airfields, railways and oil targets in support of the campaigns in North Africa, Italy and the Balkans, including long-range raids on the Romanian oilfields and mine-laying in the Danube.
