No. 216 Group — Transport & Ferry
Transport Command
No. 216 (Transport & Ferry) Group controlled RAF air transport in the Middle East from its formation at Heliopolis in 1942. Its Dakota and other transport squadrons ferried aircraft, freight and passengers across the vast Middle East and Mediterranean theatre and supported the airborne and supply operations there.
