Biography

Frank R. Ford was the sole survivor of the crash of Wellington LN553 on 6 January 1945, freed from the wreckage of the tail after rescuers reached the marsh. He survived the war and became a police officer with the City of Glasgow Police, serving for 22 years; he died in 1970, aged 44.
