Biography
F/Sgt W.G. Hammond served as the wireless operator of Lancaster ND952 with No. 626 Squadron, Royal Air Force. On 1 July 1944 the aircraft did not return from the raid on Vierzon. He evaded capture and returned to Allied lines.
