History
No. 305 Polish Bomber Squadron, Ziemia Wielkopolska, formed in August 1940 from Polish airmen who had reached Britain after the fall of France. It began with Battles and then Wellingtons, serving as a Bomber Command night-bomber squadron from 1941. In 1943 it moved to daylight operations with No. 2 Group, briefly using Mitchells before converting to Mosquitoes for low-level attacks on transport and selected targets in France and Germany, then served with the occupation forces before disbanding in 1947.
