Hit by flak nearing the aiming point during the daylight attack on the Dortmund-Ems Canal at Ladbergen on 1 January 1945, but pressed on and bombed at 1117 from 11,700 ft. Hit again in a port fuel tank; both port engines eventually failed, and the crew nursed the Lancaster back over Allied territory before abandoning it to crash near Venray. All seven survived.
