No. 17 Group
Coastal Command
No. 17 Group was the training group of RAF Coastal Command. It ran the operational training units that prepared crews for maritime reconnaissance, anti-submarine and anti-shipping work, equipping them on types such as the Avro Anson and Bristol Blenheim before they joined the operational groups. Across the war it turned out thousands of trained Coastal Command crews.
