History
No. 502 (Ulster) Squadron was an Auxiliary Air Force squadron that served with RAF Coastal Command in the Battle of the Atlantic. It was the first Coastal Command squadron to operate the Handley Page Halifax, and its long-range anti-submarine patrols — aided by ASV radar and the Leigh Light — sank several U-boats in the war against the German submarine.
