History
No. 570 Squadron formed at Hurn in November 1943 as an airborne forces unit in No. 38 Group. Flying Stirlings, it dropped troops and supplies, towed gliders and supported special operations. The squadron took part in the Normandy airborne landings, Arnhem, the Rhine crossing and supply drops to resistance groups, then flew transport and troop-movement work after the war in Europe.
